Man's body recovered from St. Joseph River in Constantine

CONSTANTINE, Mich. -- The body of the man who fell from his boat while fishing and disappeared in the St. Joseph River in Constantine has been recovered.


The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department investigated the incident that happened between the 67000 block of Oxbow and the 11600 block of Riverside Drive.


The victim, 66-year-old Tommy McDonald,  was fishing with his son when he fell from the boat.

The victim's son made it to shore and called for help.


The body was located Monday night around 6 p.m. by a resident who lives within 2 miles of where McDonald went into the water.


An autopsy will be conducted to determine cause of death.
