MISHAWAKA, Ind. - Few connections in sports are tighter than those between communities and their local athletes who choose to stay local. Demetrius Jackson certainly embodies that connection as well as any Michiana native.
A graduate of Marian High School who continued to shine in his hometown at Notre Dame, Jackson is currently battling to find a permanent home in the NBA. But while he completed a Summer League stint with the Portland Trailblazers, he was also busy keeping tabs on his latest contribution - a new basketball court at Marian.
