MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. – Health officials in Marshall County are concerned about the surge in patients overwhelming caregivers.
According to St. Joseph Health Systems CEO, Chad Towner, they have already reached capacity for COVID-19 patients at their Plymouth Hospital.
“We believe what’s happening with the surge of new cases that came in the last two weeks that we have a crushing wave of hospital patients coming next week. That’s for the whole region,” said Towner.
The hospital has so many COVID-19 patients, they had to take away other rooms meant for those without the virus, but according to Towner, he expects the worse has yet to come.
Towner is asking the community to keep wearing masks when they are out.
