MASON TOWNSHIP, MI. -- A home on 5 Points Road in Edwardsburg was considered a total loss after an overnight fire engulfed the entire structure.
According to SEPSA Fire Authority, the call of a fully-engulfed structure fire came in just before 12 a.m. Sunday. When emergency crews arrived on the scene, the home was indeed up in flames.
Firefighters were able to take control of the fire nearly an hour later.
Assistant Chief Bill Sullivan said a family of three or four people in the home at the time of the fire. Everyone made it out of the home but one woman was taken to the hospital for evaluation of non-life threatening injuries.
Sullivan notes because of the extent of damage to the home, the cause of the fire may take days to determine.
