GOSHEN, Ind.—Goshen Mayor Jeremy Stutsman on Wednesday ordered that flags at all city offices be lowered to half-staff on Thursday and Friday to honor police officer Kevin Koontz, who passed away on Monday.

Koontz passed away after a battle with cancer.

The mayor is also inviting Goshen residents and businesses to lower their flags on those days.

Services for Koontz will be held on Friday, July 26 with a viewing from 10 a.m. until noon at Grace Community Church and a funeral service at 1 p.m.

Koontz will receive full honors and will be buried at Violett Cemetery.

The Goshen Police Department’s office will be closed on Friday, July 26. Indiana State Police will be patrolling during the ceremony so all Goshen patrol officers are able to attend the service.
