Memory Cafés opening in Berrien County starting in January
Area Agency on Aging BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- Area Agency on Aging and the Campus for Creative Aging are launching new Memory Cafés for people with cognitive changes, such as dementia, across Berrien County.
With a grant from the Berrien Community Foundation, these Memory Cafés will be hosted three times every month in 2026 in New Buffalo, Niles, and Stevensville, free for those with cognitive changes and their families.
The Memory Cafés will allow people to engage in art, enjoy games and puzzles, and learn about interesting topics in a safe and welcoming environment.
The first Memory Café is scheduled for the first Tuesday of each month from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the New Buffalo Township Library at 33 N. Thompson Street. The second Memory Café will be held on the second Thursday of each month from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Niles District Library at 620 E. Main Street. The third is scheduled for the third Monday of the month (save for being on the second Monday for January and February to account for holidays) from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Lincoln Township Public Library at 2099 W. John Beers Road in Stevensville.
Registration for the Memory Cafés is requested ahead of time in case of inclement weather or illness.
