SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Michiana's Bike to Work week has kicked off, with some new events in the mix this year surrounding mountain biking.
Here is the schedule for the rest of the week:
Tuesday, May 12
- St. Joseph County Public Library Book Bike | Howard Park | 2-4 p.m.
Wednesday, May 13
- South Bend Bike Garage | 119 Wayne Street, South Bend | 5-8 p.m.
Thursday, May 14
- St. Joseph County Public Library Book Bike | Howard Park | 3-5 p.m.
- NIMBA / Kid's Bike Night & NICA's Michiana Composite Team (5th-12th Grades) | Mary Gibbard Park | 5-7 p.m.
- Roll Out Bike Ride | 501 E LaSalle Avenue, South Bend | 6 p.m.-?
Friday, May 15
- Cycling Community Night Ride | Howard Park | 8:30-11 p.m.
Saturday, May 16
- Youth Bike Rodeo | Boehm Park | noon-2 p.m.
- Skills & Trail Ride | Rum Village | noon-2 p.m.
The purpose of Bike to Work week is to remind people that not only is biking a recreational activity, but it can also be a viable form of transportation.
