Several areas around Michiana commemorated Memorial Day as community members gathered to remember the soldiers who sacrificed their lives while serving the United States.
Mishawaka residents hosted a memorial service at several cemeteries in the area before holding a wreath ceremony at Battell Park.
“We’re here to remember the troops that have fallen in battle. Remember them and honor them with what we’re doing and respect them," a few local Boy Scouts said.
The Osceola Business Association Memorial Day Parade was hosted between Osceola Avenue and Grand Avenue.
Another Memorial Day parade was hosted by the American Legion in Niles where military vehicles and floats processed down State Street before ending at the Silverbrook Cemetery.
