NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- How much do you know about your health? Especially your heart?
The Michiana community and Notre Dame basketball head coach, Mike Brey, are making sure men know everything they can to prevent heart problems.
The American Heart Association is partnering up with the team for the sixth annual BBQ with Brey.
The fundraising event aims at educating and promoting awareness about the preventative measures that can be taken, to avoid heart attacks or strokes.
Heart disease is the number one killer of Americans.
Strokes rank as the number five killer.
Tickets can be purchased at the door, and will provide access to food from local vendors and photo opportunities with the team.
During the event, a local man who survived a near-fatal heart attack, will share how his lifestyle has changed.
The event will be held at the Shamrock Village on Notre Dame's campus, Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
