Michigan organization seeks donations to help save lives

A Michigan organization is working to save children’s lives, but to make a big impact, they’re asking for your help

The Kiwanis Club is hosting a shoe collection drive across the Saint Joe and Benton Harbor area.

The drive will raise money for UNICEF’S ‘Project Eliminate.’ This project will help prevent infants from catching tetanus, a bacterial infection. It will also help grow businesses in developing countries like Haiti or Honduras and reduce shoes that are thrown into landfills, which hurts the environment.

You can donate any new or old pair of shoes. Donation locations include First Source Bank and Horizon bank branches, Ace Hardware, Barrett and Driscoll Pediatrics, Berrien County Senior Center, several area churches, Silver Beach Pizza, and Key Clubs at Saint Joe and Lakeshore High Schools.

The last day to donate is October 15th.
