Midwest snow continues to cause hundreds of delayed, cancelled flights

Over 1,000 flights have been delayed on Monday due to a winter storm that is moving across the Midwest. 

According to Flightaware.com, nearly 1,000 flights within, into, or out of the United States were cancelled on Monday.

Chicago O’Hare International Airport is suffering from the most flight interruptions in the United States, with 733 flights cancelled and 350 delays on Monday.

Snow began falling Sunday, causing 5,759 flight delays and 1.286 cancellations across the country.

Mackenzie Fell, a Corydon, Indiana native, was in town visiting family for Thanksgiving when her Frontier Airlines flight from Louisville home to Clearwater, Florida was cancelled on Sunday.

“We just need a flight back so we can go to work,” Fell said.

The 22-year-old dental assistant is now driving to Cincinnati to catch a flight home. Fell is just one of millions of travelers affected by the latest snowfall.
