ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- A judge has continued the trial for accused murderer Miguel Rosales, again. Rosales is accused of shooting and killing 27-year-old Benito “Benny” Bueno in the parking lot of Bar Louie at University Park Mall in June 2017.
US Marshals arrested Rosales in Chicago more than two months later. His initial trial date was set for December. Rosales was released from jail with a GPS monitoring device in January. His release came after he requested a speedy trial while the prosecution requested more time to investigate evidence and witnesses being put forward by the defense.
ABC57 news asked Rosales several questions outside of court today. He stayed silent as he quickly walked from the courthouse to the County-City Building.
Before today’s hearing, Rosales’ trial was scheduled for April, 30th. The judge pushed that trial date to July 16th out of concern that the April date may pose scheduling problems. Rosales is due back in court for another hearing on June 22nd.
