Mishawaka Summerfest enters day two

Looking for something to do this weekend? Well the time has arrived for Mishawaka's annual Summerfest.

There's music, food, games, inflatables, face painting, magic and talent shows and a host of other activities for your whole family.

Things started off with a pancake breakfast and a 5k run.

Vendors opened up shop around 9 a.m.

Organizers say the best part of this event is that it is not funded by the city. Rather, it's the people in the community who fuel the fun.

"We have a core of sponsors that help us out year to year but we are always picking up new folks," said Terry Zeller, superintendent of Mishawaka Parks and Recreation. "Everyone seems to want to pitch in when they know it's a community based event and it's for the good of the people of Mishawaka."

Summerfest ends Saturday night after a concert from the group Hotel California.
