Miss USA crowned Miss Universe

LAS VEGAS -- Women from 90 countries gathered in Sin City Wednesday night to compete for the Miss Universe crown.
In the end, a 20-year-old beauty queen from Rhode Island is the new Miss Universe. Olivia Culpo will spend the next year traveling the world.
Her platform is HIV/AIDS prevention. The Boston University sophomore is the first American to win since 1997.
Miss Philippines was the first runner-up.
