More than 21,500 I&M customers still without power

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- More than 21,500 I&M customers are still without power after Sunday's storms.

In Michigan there were 59 broken poles and 15 damaged transformers. In Indiana, there were 32 broken poles and 18 damaged transformers.

The approximate number of I&M customers without power in Michigan:

• Benton Harbor area: 5,741 customers (restoration estimate 9 pm Friday)


• Three Rivers area: 6,463 customers (restoration estimate 11 pm Friday)


• Buchanan area: 1,826 customers (restoration estimate 11 pm Thursday)


• New Buffalo area: 863 customers

Approximate number of I&M customers without power in Indiana:

• South Bend area: 3,287 customers (restoration estimate 6 pm Thursday)


• Elkhart area: 112 customers (restoration estimate 8 pm Tuesday)


• North-central LaPorte County: 531customers (restoration estimate 11 pm Thursday)
