CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- A motorcyclist died following a crash with a van on Redfield Street Wednesday morning, according to Michigan State Police.
The crash happened around 10 a.m. on Redfield Street near Carter Avenue.
Police said 25-year-old Nicholas Allen Washburn was driving his motorcycle westbound when it struck a van stopped at the stop sign for Carter Avenue.
Washburn hit a vehicle stopped on Redfield waiting to turn left, report said.
"The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to the hospital in South Bend where he was pronounced deceased," said Lt. Jeremy Carlisle, the Assistant Post Commander for Michigan State Police.
Redfield was closed between Ironwood and Gumwood while the crash was investigated.
The drivers of the other vehicles involved were not injured.
