NILES, Mich. - If you've ever wondered what it's like to be a police officer, now is your chance. The Michigan State Police Niles Post is holding its Citizens' Academy.
Participants will get to learn about the mission and operation of Michigan State Police, understand the procedures the troopers follow, increase their awareness of law enforcement's role in the community and get to know the people work at the Niles post.
The Academy will last six weeks from Oct. 24 to Nov. 28, 2018. Meetings will be held at the Cass County Council on Aging on Wednesdays at 4 p.m.
To sign up, contact Trooper Jesse Binns of the Niles Post at (269) 569-1966 or via email at binnsj1@michigan.gov to receive an application.
