Multiple cases of COVID-19 reported at Pine Ridge Rehab and Nursing Center

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Berrien County Health Department and Spectrum Health Lakeland are working to care for several people who tested positive for COVID-19 Pine Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Stevensville.

Employees who have tested positive are isolating at home.

Residents who have tested positive are being isolated in the rooms.

The center has notified all family members and residents of the positive cases and are working to prevent the virus from spreading further.

“The safety of our residents and team members remains our highest priority,” said Melinda Gruber, PhD, vice president continued care services, Spectrum Health Lakeland. “We understand this is a high-risk setting and have been working closely with the Berrien County Health Department to ensure we are taking all the necessary precautions to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.”

To date, there have been 139 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Berrien County and eight deaths due to the virus.
