Multiple departments assist St. Joseph County police in pursuit

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The Lakeville Police Department reports they assisted the St. Joseph County Police Department in a pursuit near S.R. 4 and Millet Road Thursday morning.

Police say around 11:45 a.m., a call was received regarding a suspicious man pacing back and forth in front of a home in the 27000 block of S.R. 4 attempting to get into a black vehicle with a woman.

Before police arrived, the report states the two got into the black car and began driving east on S.R. 4.

The man then fled from the vehicle near S.R. 4 and Millet Road when police arrived.

K9 Eis from the LPD, K9 Nyx from the Roseland Police Department, and K9 Siro from the Osceola Police Department arrived on scene to assist in locating and apprehending the suspect.

Several officers were also deployed in the area to create a perimeter.

While authorities were tracking through the marshy and wooded area and heading toward S.R. 4, the man came out of the woods onto S.R. 4.

Police say a local homeowner observed the man walking along S.R. 4 near Maple Road, and having seen the social media posts the homeowner contacted St. Joseph County Dispatch Center.

The suspect was quickly apprehended by police and there is no ongoing threat or danger to the public.
