Two people injured in Boland Park shooting

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- St. Joseph County dispatch received a call reporting a large gathering at Boland Park.

As officers were on their way, more calls came in reporting shots fired at Boland Park just before 1 a.m. on Monday morning. 

Many people and vehicles were seen leaving the park once officers arrived.

SBPD were then alerted about two people walking into Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds.

An adult male and juvenile female were treated with no life-threatening injuries. 

Authorities did confirm to ABC57 the victims at the hospital and the incident at Boland Park are related. 

SBPD encourages anyone with information regarding the shooting to call the Detective Bureau at 574-235-9263.

SBPD shares a reminder that all city parks are open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and anyone on park property after hours is considered to be trespassing.
