Narcotics unit locates small meth lab in Paw Paw home

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. -- Two people will likely face charges after deputies located an active meth lab after serving a search warrant at a home in Paw Paw, according to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.

Wednesday afternoon, detectives with the narcotics unit went to a home in the 38000 block of Paw Paw Road as part of an investigation into illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine.

When detectives arrived to the home they made contact with a 26-year-old woman who was outside the residence.

Just as a warrant was obtained to search the home, a 48-year-old man arrived to the scene.

When he was told the home was going to be searched, the man became visibly upset, deputies said.

During a search of the home, detectives said they located a small amount of meth.

In the garage, they located several older meth labs and one active meth lab, reports said.

Once the investigation is complete, the report will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for possible charges.
