National champs kickoff at home

NOTRE DAME - The Notre Dame's Women Soccer Team kicked off it's regular season play on Friday. The Fighting Irish took on the University of Wisconsin. The Irish lead at halftime 1-0.
Before the game, fans got an up-close look at the National Championship Trophy that was on display outside Alumni Stadium. The Irish are the reining 2010 National Champions.
Just before kickoff the team unveiled their championship banner, and the crowd answered with a roar of applause.
The Fighting Irish are home next, on September 2nd at 7:30 p.m. and take on Tulsa at Alumni Stadium.
