New Drop2Stop prescription drop box installed at Walkerton Police Department

The 525 Foundation and the Walkerton Police Department have partnered to provide the community with a safe and convenient way to dispose of unused or expired medication. A Drop2Stop prescription drop box has been placed at the police department building at 300 Illinois Street.

Anyone can place unused or expired medication into the box for safe disposal.

To date, the 525 Foundation has collected over 17,000 pounds of prescription medication through the Drop2Stop program.

Items that can be placed in the drop box include:

  • Prescription medication
  • Vitamins
  • Prescription ointment
  • Pet medications
  • Prescription patches
  • Over the counter medications

The following items are not accepted:

  • Needles
  • Inhalers
  • Aerosol cans
  • Thermometers
  • Lotions or liquids
  • Hydrogen peroxide
