New full body scanner at jail finds pills, tattoo equipment

The La Porte County Sheriff's Office began using a full body scanner at the jail on November 20 and it has already proven successful.
Within 48 hours the scanner detected pills in the bra of a woman being processed at the jail.
Earlier this week, officers using the scanner found tattoo equipment hidden in a body cavity of a woman who had been brought to La Porte County from Lake County.
The scanner was purchased for $199,000.
