A new law is coming to the state of Indiana on July 1, requiring drivers to move over and reduce their speeds for disabled vehicles displaying hazard lights on the side of the road.
From 2016 to 2020, an average of nearly 350 people per year were killed while outside of a disabled vehicle on the road.
Violators of the new law could have their license suspended for up to two years and have to pay up to $1,000 for the offense.
