SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The new owners of the building that housed the Oaken Bucket restaurant for decades in South Bend have announced a new restaurant will soon be opening in its place.
The Oaken Bucket was opened in the 1970's and enjoyed a great sun in South Bend until it became The Bucket in 2021.
The Bucket closed in October of 2023, and now The Bucket Shack will soon open at the 1212 South Ironwood Drive location.
New owners Steve and Amy Stidham are the current owners of the Food Shack in Elkhart.
They told ABC57 it saddened them to see the property empty for so long and wanted to bring good food back there.
The new restaurant is currently hiring with aims to open sometime this year.
They are currently hiring:
- Waitstaff
- Managers
- Bartenders
- Cooks
- Dishwashers
They hope to be open in the next 4 weeks
