SOUTH BEND, Ind. — A local grocery store, Midwest Premium Kosher (MPK), is ready to welcome the community Tuesday from 12:00pm to 6:00pm. for a grand opening, hoping to fill both grocery bags and needs in the downtown South Bend area.

Just two blocks north of Four Winds Field at 221 W. Wayne St., the location gives accessible, fresh food to residents in the heart of downtown, while also giving a wider variety of Kosher options for our community.

“In all these smaller communities that have Kosher eating populations, the more amenities you have, the easier it is for the community to grow… You really have to plan if you’re eating a full Kosher diet so, for myself and for community members… it’s something of importance just to have something like this and so we take that responsibility on as it’s more than just a business… we’re providing the ability for people to keep this lifestyle,” said general manager Ari Kramer.

At the open house, the store will hold a ribbon cutting followed by free samples and community activities. After that, the store will be open every day but Saturday.
