ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. –– NFL draft hopefuls have had months, if not years, to prove themselves to scouts. However, the cancellation of a Notre Dame Pro Day prevented Fighting Irish safety Jalen Elliot from improving his draft stock.
Elliot ran a subpar forty-yard dash time during February's NFL combine, and now he might suffer because of it.
Executive Director of the Senior Bowl Jim Nagy said he isn't too sure where Elliot will be selected.
"I don’t know what teams are thinking about with that 40 time out there, but he has good tape. He is a good athlete on tape, that’s why we invited him here," Nagy said.
Round one of the NFL draft begins Thursday at 8 p.m. EST.
