NILES, Mich. -- The Niles Fire Department came up with a fun way to stay cool during this blast of heat.
They organized a water spray today - using a ladder truck to spray water for three hours, inviting the little ones and big ones alike to come out and get soaked.
The event aimed to showcase the fire department's role in the community beyond emergency services, by promoting a sense of fun and support during a heat wave that's hard on everyone.
