SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission is currently investigating related to natural gas customers' metering and billing discrepancies.

In response to the IURC's investigation, NIPSCO released the following statement:

"NIPSCO is aware of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission's order issued on Nov. 26, 2025, commencing an investigation related to natural gas customer metering. We want to assure customers that their safety and accurate billing are our top priorities. During the rollout of a new metering communication system, NIPSCO identified potential billing discrepancies affecting a limited number of natural gas customers and proactively informed the Commission. We will fully cooperate with the Commission's investigation and have already taken steps to verify and correct any impacted bills. Customers do not need to take any action at this time, and we will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available."
