Notre Dame monitoring international students & staff

Notre Dame, Ind- The University of Notre Dame is monitoring international reaction to President Donald Trump declaring Jerusalem the capital of Israel.

Within hours of the announcement protesters gathered at American embassies across the Middle East and North Africa. The state department, as well as Notre Dame, expects those protests to continue for some time.

The international department says it is rigorously monitoring the situation and urges all international students to take safety precautions.

Notre Dame encourages students, faculty and staff to register their business travel through the University’s registry so NDI can help in an emergency. It also encourages them to avoid areas of protest, quickly leave if a protest breaks out, and understand options for travelling to a safe location.

The U.S. State Department issues travel alerts and warnings that can be monitored here.
