Notre Dame softball player named to three All-American teams
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame softball star, Karina Gaskins, was named to three separate All-American teams between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning.
The Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year earned second team All-American honors from Softball America and D1Softball.com, and third team All-American by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
The sophomore played in all 52 games this season for the Irish, leading the ACC with a .428 batting average and driving in 61 runs. Gaskins scored 29 times, and racked up more home runs (13) than doubles (12).
Gaskin’s on-base percentage of .555 also broke the team record, set in 2021 by Abby Sweet.
She marks the first third team All-American by the NFCA for Notre Dame softball since 2016.
