SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame women’s basketball is coming off a national title, and throughout the following months, they’ve repeatedly tried to thank Irish fans who supported them throughout that championship run.
This time, though, the thanks will be on camera.
The Irish will be shooting their introduction video which plays before the starting lineup announcements at every home game at Purcell Pavilion.
They’ve extended an open invite to fans who want to be a part of the video to come out to the outdoor courts across from the campus bookstore on Saturday at 8 pm.
“We want to get the fans involved more,” said head coach Muffet McGraw.” The intro is so important to us, it gets us hype for the game and our fans always know when we need them to cheer. We love our fans and what they did for us all year long. We’ve been celebrating the championship and now we want them to come out and be able to enjoy this day. It’s going to be so exciting.”
The shoot runs until 10 p.m. and is free to attend. The hope is that the fans will feel even more connected with the defending national champions.
“They’ll be on camera,” said McGraw, “so they’re going to be on every single game when we have the intro video, they’ll be able to look up and see themselves in the crowd. We’re so thankful to them so we want them to come out and help us again.”
