November 1st kicks off Prematurity Awareness Month

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- November is Prematurity Awareness Month.

In St. Joseph County, the rate of premature births among black women is more than 14 percent. For white women, it’s around 9 percent.

The St. Joseph County Minority Health Coalition is set to host a number of programs this month to bring awareness to this problem.

On November 1st they’ll announce the launch of a national program, that addresses prematurity among women in our area.
