MISHAWAKA, Ind. — Police were dispatched to a home in Mishawaka in an attempt to serve a warrant.
According to St. Joseph County dispatch, police were called to a residence on Burdette Street near Logan Street around 9:12 a.m. Thursday.
Police say officers were at the home to issue a search warrant, but residents were uncooperative and a SWAT team was called to assist.
Police in Mishawaka say that the house in question has a history, which was why the SWAT team was activated.
According to police, they believed that there were guns in the home.
After a few hours hours of calling on the occupants to come outside and using attention tactics, three individuals exited the home peacefully.
Police say that one person was arrested and booked into the St. Joseph County Jail on preliminary charges of burglary. Stolen property in the home was located and recovered.
The identity of individual taken into custody is being withheld until formal charges have been filed.
The two other individuals were not taken into custody and they are not suspects. One individual was transported to the hospital for a medical evaluation.
The SWAT situation at the home is now cleared.
