Officials investigating fatal house fire in LaPorte

LAPORTE, Ind.—Officials are investigating a fatal house fire in LaPorte that took place on Tuesday morning.

Officers from the LaPorte Police Department were dispatched to a residence on the 600 block of 4^th Street for a structure fire around 5:13 a.m. on Tuesday.

Upon arrival, officers saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the home and due to these conditions were unable to enter to make sure no one was inside.

LaPorte Fire officials arrived to extinguish the fire and were able to enter the home.

Once inside, fire officials located one deceased adult male.

The State Fire Marshal and LaPorte City Fire are investigating the cause of the fire.
