Breaking down rumors of a data center development in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Following recent reports that at a data center development was coming to South Bend, ABC57 worked to break down the influx of rumors.

ABC57 was given documents that were recently shared with farmers on the southwest side of South Bend that showed a site survey and proposed data center map.

The 300 acre property in question is near the US 31/20 bypass and Four Winds Casino.

The property owner is listed as Ceres Partners LLC, a specialist investment manager based in South Bend. According to their website, Ceres LLC was purchased by WisdomTree, a “global financial innovator” based in New York.

A July press release regarding the sale announcement says the Ceres platform offers opportunities in the field of AI infrastructure.

The City of South Bend neither confirmed or denied the development, saying quote: “While South Bend would welcome a transformative investment that is environmentally responsible and a clear win for the community, this concept is speculative at best currently.”
