Ohio veterans take to the sky

CARROLL, Ohio. -- This weekend, the sky was no match for several Ohio military veterans.

The Ohio Combat Veterans group gave 30 Iraq and Afghanistan vets a chance to sky dive for free. This was as a thank you for going above and beyond while serving in the military.

The group even made sure a paralyzed vet would have an opportunity to jump. He's thankful for the chance to show his kids they can do anything if they set their mind to it.

"It’s awesome. It lets us know that there are still things out there for us to do,” said Navy combat veteran Mark Mix. "I do it so my kids have no excuse when they say they can't do something. If I can do it in a wheelchair, they can do it."

It certainly offered quite the rush for vets. They reached speeds beyond 100 mph.
