One dead, two hurt in Elkhart County crash

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- One person is dead and two more are hurt after a crash in Elkhart County.

It happened Sunday, May 10, at about 1:35 p.m. The county sheriff's office says 69-year-old Ralph Elswick crossed the center line in his Ford Escape on Old US Highway 20. He then crashed head-first into a Jeep Commander traveling the other direction. Holloway was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The driver of the Jeep was taken to the hospital with lacerations to the head, as well as leg and hip pain. A passenger in Elswick's car was taken to the hospital with broken ribs.
