One person arrested following police investigation in Three Rivers

THREE RIVERS, Mich. – One person was arrested on Friday following a police investigation into a reported vehicle theft in progress, the Three Rivers Police Department reported.

Officers were called to the 600 block of 6th Avenue for a report of a vehicle theft in progress.

The suspects left the scene after an encounter with staff and then returned while officers were on scene, according to reports.

Due to the proximity of the incident to the high school and middle school, both schools were briefly on lockdown while police investigated.

Two Kalamazoo residents were detained during the investigation.

One of the individuals, a 36-year-old, was arrested on charges of PPO violation, assault, resist and obstruct, and domestic assault.

This person was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail on no bond.

The other individual was released after questioning.
