One person injured in a hit and run crash

CASS COUNTY, Mich. – Sheriff Richard Behnke was called to investigate a hit and run crash on Monday afternoon near the intersection of US 12 and Fir Road.

According to officials, Kenneth Mcninnis, 68, and Erica Martin, 59, were traveling west on US 12 when they were suddenly rear ended by another vehicle.

After the collision the vehicle continued west on US 12 instead of stopping.

Martin was transported by ambulance to Lakeland Hospital Niles for minor injuries.

Officials say that seat belts were worn and neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the crash.
