One week of free SSL rides for local educators this month

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Shore Line invited local educators to ride for free between July 22 and 28, as a thank you for their dedication and hard work.

SSL officials say this offer is good for all off-peak weekday and all weekend trains.

Officials add off-peak weekday trains arrive at Millennium Station after 9:30 a.m. CST and depart Millennium Station before 3:30 p.m. and after 6:30 p.m. CST.

To ride, all educators need to do is present a valid school ID.

Amber Kettring, Manager of Customer Service and Communications for the SSL, said, “Teachers in Northwest Indiana, South Bend, and Chicago continue to make a profound impact on their students year after year. This initiative is our way of expressing gratitude for their unwavering dedication to shaping the future.”

Riders can also take advantage of SSL's Kids Ride Free Program, allowing up to three children 13 and under to ride free with each paying parent or guardian on off-peak weekday and all weekend trains.
