Over 50 injured in accident involving 4 school buses

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. – Four school buses were involved in an accident on North State Road 13 just north of North Webster Wednesday afternoon.

43 people were taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital, according to hospital administrators. Another 12 were taken to surrounding hospitals. We do not know if all of those patients are students.

The bus driver of the fourth and rear bus was airlifted to a hospital in Fort Wayne.

The school buses are all from Wawasee Community Schools.

Several administrators from Wawasee Community Schools went to the scene. It's unclear how the accident happened, but they will be looking into ways of making their school bus safety procedures stronger.

Children who were not injured were taken to Wawasee Middle School.
