Ownership group reveals extent of damage at New Buffalo hotel

NEW BUFFALO, Mich. – The management company for Harbor Grand Hotel revealed that after being struck by lightning on September 27 and catching fire, the hotel suffered significant water damage. They anticipate that repairs will take up to 8 months to complete.

After Lightning struck the hotel, there was a fire that originated on the third floor of the building.

Guests, patrons and staff all evacuated the building as multiple fire departments at the scene extinguished the fire.

The hotels is expected to reopen by April in 2020.
