Penn High School team gives back

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A group of Michiana athletes took some time out of their holiday to give back.

The Penn High School boys hockey team helped prepare Thanksgiving meals for families at the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Memorial Children's Hospital.

They delivered the meals to families all afternoon.

"The big thing for me is to try and expose them to ways of giving, and hopefully it leaves a lasting impression for them to do so," said head coach Ryan Geist.

For more than 10 years, the Ronald McDonald Family Room has provided a comforting home away from home for families with sick or injured children.

Whether it's food, laundry, or a place to sleep, the Ronald McDonald Family Room loves to help out families who need it.
