Peregrine falcon lays two eggs atop County-City building in South Bend

SOUTH BEND — The peregrine falcon that nests atop South Bend's County-City building has laid two eggs.

This isn't the first time the city has seen its man-made nest put to good use. Over the last several years, multiple falcons have used the site to incubate their eggs.

It's not exactly clear when the falcon laid the eggs, but according to a city Facebook post, employees noticed them Friday.

Experts say peregrine falcon eggs typically hatch between 29 and 32 days after they're laid.
