PLYMOUTH, Ind. – The Indiana Chamber of Commerce announced on Friday that the City of Plymouth was “Community of the Year.”
The recognition is being attributed to Plymouth’s pro-business attitude.
Kevin Brinegar, The President for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, said that Plymouth “has a rich history steeped in commerce.”
Plymouth has brought in new companies, projects and opportunities to the area, and the city has also renovated the Rees Theater.
Sean Surrisi, who is an attorney for the city, says that the announcement coinciding with the Blueberry Festival has everyone excited.
“It was a great turn out here today we’re glad to see people getting their Blueberry Festival weekend kicked off with this great news and were going to be sharing this news throughout the weekend and everyone is very excited,” Surrisi said.
The awarded will be presented to the City of Plymouth at the Chamber's 30th Annual Awards Dinner on November 7.
