ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi donated 1,000 boxes of food to Michiana families in need this Christmas, for the ninth year in a row.
The boxes contain smoked ham, corn, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and pumpkin pie.
They are distributed by multiple anti-hunger organizations here in Indiana and Michigan.
200 of them were given out at the Food Bank of Northern Indiana in South Bend Tuesday morning.
Jennifer Webster, Vice President of Food and Beverage at Four Winds Casinos stated, "Being in a position now, where I'm able to give back both financially and with my time makes me feel very good."
Webster continued, "I also hope that individuals would not continue to struggle with food shortages in this country."
