Police and veterinarian investigate after animal neglect report

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. – LaGrange officers and a Veterinarian responded to complaints of animal neglect at a property on N SR 9.

Upon their arrival, the officials found all animals on the property had food and water.

The animals were also up-to-date on vaccinations.

The owners showed the Sheriff’s officers receipts that he had just taken ownership of the animals from an auction and is rehabilitating them.

The Indiana State Board of Animal Health veterinarian advised officials not to criminally charge the animal’s new owner.
