Police continuing investigation into home invasion/shooting

The Berrien Springs Oronoko Township Police Department says it is still investigating a shooting/home invasion that happened at a home on E. Snow Road in Oronoko Township on November 11.

Around 10:20 a.m. November 11, officers were dispatched to 221 East Snow Road.

The victim told police 3 black males, who were unknown to him, came to his home and one of the men asked to use the phone because he didn't have service.

After a brief conversation, one of the men pulled a handgun and ordered the victim into his house. A struggle ensued and the victim was shot in the left shoulder.

The victim ran to a neighbor's home to get help.

The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle described as a newer Ford Focus, white in color.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of the gunshot wound. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Police said they do not believe it was a random act of violence.
